The voices of the future have something to say! Are your students ready for one of the most dynamic, engaging, project-based, youth media production programs ever!? With so many obstacles and pressures facing today's youth, achieving academic excellence is often a major task for many inner city students. The mission of the program is to give students the opportunity to exercise their freedom of expression creatively, providing a platform for great media exposure, and to introduce them to potential careers in media production.
YP has enabled students to create and express their thoughts, passions, and interests, via video/short film productions. The UWS YOUNG PRODUCERS program provides students with the opportunity to tap into, and express their artistic and creative ambitions, developing future writers, producers, and directors, as well as, on-and-off screen talent, creating content for global online/cable platform broadcasting.
Over the course of 10 or more weeks, students will improve writing skills, develop self-confidence, learn skills needed to produce a quality video, while learning the power and advantage of cooperative efforts, and how working as a unified team can produce great results. More importantly, they will learn the power of their WRITTEN ideas and thoughts! To date, the YP YouTube channel has garnered NEARLY a million views, 1,600 subscribers, and has become a favored and frequently visited site amongst youth.
